1) What happens during inclement weather or school snow days?
During the indoor season, the club typically remains open even if local schools or businesses are closed. In rare cases of weather-related closures, customers will be notified via email. For the outdoor season, if courts are deemed unplayable, players will be informed. Any missed program classes due to closures will be rescheduled.
In the event of a dome failure or similar issue caused by Georgetown Prep Tennis Club, LLC., which results in a loss of contract playing time, Georgetown Prep Tennis Club, LLC. reserves the right to extend the season by up to two weeks beyond the contract's end date to make up for lost time, in leau of offering cash refunds.
2) What are the holiday operating hours?
The club will close at 3:00 pm on Christmas Eve and remain closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. We will open at 8:00 am on New Year’s Day. Regular operating hours apply on all other days, including Federal Monday holidays.
3) How do I select the right program?
For juniors, classes are organized by age and skill level, with some classes reserved for older youths for social and developmental reasons. Refer to our Junior Program Pathway for details or consult with one of our pros ( there should be a link to this pathway so interested parties can get the information there) A brief evaluation lesson may be required for placement in advanced classes for junior players. For adults, we follow the USTA rating system. If you’re unsure of your rating, speak to one of our pro's on staff. Our teaching professionals design programs to match players with compatible groups, assessing technique, power, consistency, and court coverage to ensure a fun and challenging experience. The club reserves the right to move players if the class is not suitable for their skill level.
4) What if I need to cancel?
You may cancel a program registration at any time and receive a credit on your account. Cancellations within two weeks of the start date are subject to a $50 administration fee if requesting a cash refund, unless opting for an account credit. Drop-in classes can be rescheduled at no penalty up to 24 hours in advance. Private lesson fees are charged in full for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time.
5) What if I miss a class?
While we strive to arrange make-ups for missed classes, availability is not guaranteed. Make-ups must occur within the same session. To arrange a make-up:
For drop-in classes (e.g., Live Ball, Men’s Night, Cardio), notify the pro or front desk at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule. A charge may apply for missed cancellations.
Once a make-up is rescheduled, notify the pro at least 24 hours in advance if you need to change the day. Failure to reschedule in a timely manner may result in losing the make-up opportunity during that session.
6) Will the club pro-rate a program fee if I miss a class and cannot schedule a make up?
Unfortunately, we cannot pro-rate program fees. If you miss a class, we will do our best to arrange a make-up session.
7) I am a student/faculty/staff member of Georgetown Prep School. How can I use the facility?
